POV porn, from the very beginning, has been all about putting the viewer into the driver's seat, figuratively speaking. Instead of just watching people have sex as an outside observer, the camera angles and filming methods are meant to simulate the experience of having sex, at least visually. At virtual-models.com, the goal is to perfect POV porn and bring it to the next level. This means that there's more focus on realistic camera angles, no talking on the part of the male performers, and little, if any camera time for any part of his body. The result is a first person view unlike any I've seen before.
Virtual Models has only been around for a couple of months, and so far the collection here is rather small with just 14 photo sets and 12 videos. Starting off small is understandable, but they don't seem too forthcoming with information about when to expect additions to the site, and nothing is dated. There's a bit of scene info and some stats for each of the 12 models featured so far. Many of the scenes have a theme including one rather bizarre video which features Dana Vespoli as a tied up, hissing vampire and a "wild west" scene with Cassie Courtland romping around on a bale of hay.
The virtual-model photo sets are offered in small and large sizes, and the full sets can be downloaded in ZIP files. The images can be over 1600 pixels on the long side for the large pictures and overall they look pretty good, although for some I was having a hard time figuring out if the overall blurriness was due to airbrushing or poor focus.
The videos are where the POV theme of things is most apparent. Each flick is separated into a few pieces for download and is offered in WMV, DivX and iPod/PSP formats. Although the button for the WMV versions reads "WMV stream," these don't seem to be set up for streaming, just download. The quality is what I would consider about average and some scenes do show signs of poor color balance and lighting.
I think the idea of overhauling the POV porn concept and making it more realistic and personal is a very good concept, but I think the execution here is a little lackluster. With some information about updates and perhaps some more interactive elements, I think this could be a great site. Even as is, I think diehard POV fans will be pleased with what's here, it's just too bad there isn't more of it. Membership is around $19 for 30 days. |
