I've probably seen more porn in my life than everyone else I know combined, but I've never actually watched a live webcam show. It's never seemed worth the cost to me since you have to pay by the minute, although I can certainly understand the appeal. Watching something happen live and even being able to direct the action do seem like a lot of fun! When I saw that sweetapples.com was a live webcam site with a flat per-month rate, it sounded like a great deal! The site promises several specific things on the tour such as "live chats," "high res picture submissions," "updates twice each week."

As soon as I logged in to the sweetapples.com member's area, I started searching for a girl to chat with. The first few sections I came across were just short recorded clips or stills taken from videos. Below that I found the "live cams and chats" section. There were three separate sub-categories, labeled simply "live bra and panty cams" one through three. I figured "first things first" and clicked on number one. This immediately redirected me to a completely different website which locked up my browser. After restarting, I thought perhaps I'd better try number two. This also redirected me to another website and it was obvious it was nothing but an up-sell. I decided to play along anyway and even registered a free account at this other site, but the girls I viewed weren't in bras and panties, they were fully clothed and looked rather bored. On to number three. I don't suppose I really have to tell you what I found at number three, actually, since it was exactly the same: an up-sell. Just to be clear, it's true that you can talk to some of these webcam babes on these other sites for free (for a limited time) but they aren't going to show you the goodies until you pay. You can enter these free chats whether or not you are a Sweet Apples member, so it's not exactly a membership benefit.

So if sweetapples.com doesn't offer live webcams, what do they offer? Well there are over 425 short video clips. They last about a minute each, are dubbed over with terrible, grating techno music and I didn't see a single one out of the 40 or so that I downloaded that had any sex or masturbation at all. The girls sometimes get naked or touch their breasts and dance around sexily, but that's it. If you're into this kind of thing, you might enjoy it, but only for a minute at a time. If I had to guess, I would say these are promo videos uploaded by web cam girls to attract customers. I can't say for sure, but that's the feeling I got from them. Personally, if I wanted to watch girls just get naked and dance around, I would rather have videos higher quality than a webcam can offer.
In addition to the video clips, there is also a large section with screen captures taken from videos and another with around 27 sets of what they claim are regular digital photos sent in by webcam girls. I can't say for sure if they update as promised because only the most recent update was dated. It was only a few days before I visited the site, so it's possible that they do hold up at least that end of the bargain, and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, for whatever that is worth. While it is certainly true that there is a lot of webcam footage available here, it's not live, and it's very short and softcore. The biggest issue to me, however, is the fact that watching someone on webcam isn't much fun if you can't talk to them and interact. In the end, I was just disappointed by this webcam themed site. Membership is around $24 for 30 days. |
