Suicidegirls.com isn't really much at all like any other adult site I have reviewed. In fact, I'm not even sure that I would classify it as a porn site, per se. It's really much more of a community of people who share all types of artistic endeavors with each other through the use of the very extensive blog, forum, and comments network on the site. Members, models, and employees all play a deeply integral role in making this site what it is. Oh, yeah, and they have naked pictures of cute Goth and punk-type chicks too.
There are over 1350 models, or "Suicide Girls" on the site, and while some of them have certainly picked up and moved on, it appears that an astoundingly large portion of them are still active participants on the site, doing their part to contribute to the site community as a whole. If there's a girl you find particularly hot, you can tell her so using any number of means, commenting on the set page itself, emailing her, or posting a comment on her blog, which many of the girls maintain and update regularly. As a member, you can have your own blog and profile on the site as well, and interact with not only the models, but the other members.
Aside from the blog and community aspects of the site, there are also articles, interviews and features covering everything from world politics to the latest runway fashions, and there seems to be a particular focus on music here. There's even a certain level of celebrity involvement, for example Dave Navarro of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jane's Addiction fame has shot a photo set for the site.
As for accessing the content, it's pretty simple. There are sections for pictures and videos listed in the menu bar, and once you are on the picture or video page, you can search for key words or sort by various attributes. For example, you can order them by date, photographer, number of comments, candid, and multiple girl shoots, among other options. When you find a set or girl you like, you'll be shown similar sets and sets with the same model. Viewing is done in either a flash or html window, and you can choose your preference. A ZIP file for downloading full sets is one feature that is unfortunately not offered here. The quality is generally pretty good with the sizes varying between sets, but what really sticks out is how artistic and interesting the sets are. There's plenty of nudity, but interesting use of make-up and lighting really makes these special. There are over 3320 picture sets on the site currently, with updates coming at least once, and sometimes multiple times per day.
The over 108 videos on the site currently fit right along with the quirky nature of the rest of things at SuicideGirls. All of the videos I watched had a brief intro with the girl talking, and then plenty of sexy footage of the her in various states of undress, all set to music, and in fact they have a very "music video" type quality to them. The downside is that they are only available for download in iPod format, otherwise, you'll need to stream them from the site. For $12, you'll get access to this interesting network for 30 days. Check it out, it's really worth it. |
