Pornstarxs.com is another entry in the DVD download category, and this one appears to be stacking up quite well. With over 1800 DVDs available for download and two new, full titles coming daily, it's doubtful you'll run out of material any time soon, although pornstarxs.com is far from being the largest site in the DVD download genre. Many of these sites are very similar and only vary in the specific features and titles offered, so let's look closer at this DVD site.
All of the basic features you'd look for in a DVD site are here, though the design could use some work to make better use of space overall. In addition to searching by porn star name, series, studio and genre, you can also narrow the collection down with the advanced search options which include things like positions, acts, clothing, settings and physical appearance. I would say that Porn star XS is more geared to people who already know specific things they want rather than someone who just wants to "explore," although there are certainly ways of discovering a new gem here.
Aside from the various searching options on the site, other features include the ability to create and download custom length scenes, a favorites list, and top rated scenes and pornstars as ranked by other members. Updates come twice daily as I mentioned before, and the exact DVD count as of the time of writing this review was 1861. Although they don't keep a meticulous countdown of updates going as I've seen on other sites, you can sort the titles by date to see the daily additions.
Pornstarxs.com offers more than acceptable download speeds and the options are pretty good, although there is one glaring omission, streaming video. The ability to stream the videos as a preview or just instant gratification is one of the best attributes of most DVD download sites in my opinion, so the omission here is one of the biggest downsides for me. Still, the download options are great with multiple quality WMV versions as well as iPod/PSP and MPEG, and the specs on the WMV versions can go up to 720x480 pixels with a bitrate of 2200 kbps, so most of this collection will be great for full screen viewing.
In the end, although pornstarxs.com certainly gives the front runner in the category a good run, I still think they fall well short of the number one spot. Even so, the site offers significantly more than probably 99% of other, non-DVD download sites out there for a fair price, and at the very least it's worth checking out their database of flicks (accessible from the tour) to see how much here is of interest to you. Membership is around $24 for 30 days, but if you're in for the long haul, you can get your monthly cost down to less than $10 by joining up for six months in advance. Great deal! |
