Absolutevids.com is a relatively new site on the scene, having launched towards the end of 2007. The name of the game here is high quality porn, and they do a pretty good job of things. The materials include both videos and photos and the action can cover lesbian, hardcore and group scenarios. Although it appears that the content here was probably originally filmed for this site or at least for this network, it's not exactly exclusive since they're being released to other sites as third party content.

There are 60 scenes available here at Absolute Vids so far, each with photo and video materials. It looks like one new scene is added per week, but they split it up into pieces and release it over time rather than all at once. At the end of the week, a full length version of the video is added for easier download, but the picture galleries are not available in downloadable ZIP files.

The biggest problem I ran into here at absolutevids was the download speed. A couple of weeks prior to reviewing this site, I reviewed some others in the same network where I also found similar issues with slow downloads, so it's definitely not an isolated problem. I barely broke dial up speeds while downloading, and with files that can be hundreds of MB in size, that means it could take several hours to download one full length flick. Just one piece of six total pieces took over 45 minutes for me to download at the highest quality level. You can stream the lower quality versions with some success if you want some instant gratification, but the higher quality versions stopped to buffer constantly due to the slow network speeds.

So, in the end, are the videos here high enough quality to make up for the long wait? Well, I suppose it all depends on your personal preferences, but here are some stats. Each flick can be downloaded in WMV format in five quality levels, the highest of which displays at 1068x600 pixels in crystal clear perfection with a bitrate of around 5000 kbps. Streaming is done in Flash format and is also available in five quality levels. The HD movies here truly look flawless and are among the best I've ever seen in terms of quality, I just wish it didn't take quite so long to get at them. The photos seem just as clear and nice and are a good size at 1500x1000 pixels.

Absolute Vids has a pretty nice thing here, but they really need to do something about the download speeds to truly compete in the high quality porn market. If you have the patience to wait for the movies here, I highly recommend that you check out the site for a full month rather than a trial since trial membership only gets you some sample content from the member's area. A 30 day subscription is around $24.
