One of my favorite types of adult sites are those which offer DVD titles for download. There's so much variety and it's a nice break from the same old online porn that I'm used to seeing every day. More and more of these downloadable DVD sites are popping up as bandwidth and storage space on the net becomes more affordable and technology increases, so it comes as no surprise that there is some fierce competition between the sites, and of course, not all DVD download sites are created equal.
Videohub.com, several years ago, would have been one of the best sites around. Unfortunately now, even with its over 679 DVD titles available, it just doesn't measure up to the big players who have literally thousands of titles. There is one clear advantage that videohub.com has over other sites that I have reviewed in the downloadable DVD genre, and that is the ability to download a full DVD title with one click. The other sites I have seen all offer downloads only by scene. Videohub.com offers scene downloads as well, and for both the scene and full length downloads, DivX and WMV files are offered in one quality level each.

One feature that I really liked on videohub was the ability to watch a streaming preview trailer and view screen captures from the video, which really helps you make the decision of what to watch next, and this is particularly important since choosing to download an entire DVD can be quite a time commitment. The DivX version of a DVD I downloaded took over 30 minutes. The slow download speed, less than half what I am used to getting when downloading from porn sites, is my main complaint about the site.
Videohub.com seems to update every other day with three new titles, so they are growing pretty fast, but they'll have to pick up the pace to even come close to touching the big players in the niche. Everything on the site is searchable and sortable by performer name, studio, category and keyword. Some of the better stocked categories include anal, gonzo, and brunette, but other, smaller niches are represented as well such as squirting, toys and fisting. Big dick porn star legend Lexington Steele even has an entire section dedicated just to his videos.
Overall, videohub.com is a good site that is competing in a tough market.

In the year or so since I visited videohub.com, I've seen and reviewed even more DVD download sites. They continue to try to outdo each other with more updates, better features and quality and interactive features. Unfortunately, it looks like videohub.com got left behind. The site hasn't added a single new title with its grand total still standing at 679.
Even more puzzling is the fact that the newest update is marked as being from January of 2007, a couple of months before my review, even though the site appeared to still be updating at the time of my review. However this all occurred, the result is the same.
This is one of the smallest sites of its type that I've seen and with no updates, it can't compete. If you peruse the collection from the outside and find some titles you haven't seen elsewhere, then Video Hub would be worth a join. |
