It seems like every time you turn around these days, a new DVD download site is opening up. Now don't get me wrong, it's a great concept and a great bargain, and I love these sites, but the problem is, with so many different options now, it's hard to know which one is best. Downloadpass.com has thrown its hat into the ring, so let's take a look at what they have to offer.

The interface of the site looks familiar and comfortable and has all of the immediate features that I look for such as category listings and the ability to search by series, porn star name, studio or title. There's also a search box where you can search for key words, and one of my favorite features, the random DVD button which will take you to a randomly selected title each time you click it. Overall I can't fault the navigation much, though some of the categories, such as "fetish", could stand to be broken down a little further to help people find titles relating to their specific kink.
There are over 1810 DVDs available on the site currently, and the site is updated daily with a minimum of one and up to around five or six titles. One thing that I love about this site is that they make no mystery of what has been added and when. Each DVD will specifically state the date it was added to the site, and you can check out the newest additions section to see the latest titles added.
Once you find a title you're interested in, you can take a look at a few preview pictures from each scene, complete with a cast list to help you make your decision. Downloading is done on a scene by scene basis and each video is available to download in WMV format in two qualities, and to stream in three qualities. The download speed wasn't the fastest I've encountered on my blazing fast cable connection, but it was more than acceptable. A favorites list feature makes it easy to save titles for later viewing or downloading. There are also around 100 third party feeds available, but with all these DVDs, I doubt you'd ever make it to them.

As with pretty much all of these unlimited DVD download sites that have sprung up, the main competition is videobox.com which dominates the market with its low price, huge collection, and great navigation. At this point in time, I have to say that it would be hard for any of these new sites to compete, but downloadpass.com does a great job and is definitely worth a look. Check out the three day trial for around $5 which should give you plenty of time to see what they have to offer. |
